Job summary

Lake Elsinore Unified School District is seeking a Paraeducator I to supervise playgrounds and support instruction at Elsinore Elementary and Withrow Elementary. The 3-hour-per-day position runs 182 days per year, with part-time hours and opportunities for district-paid vacation and holidays.

Successful candidates will assist certificated staff, provide student supervision, and help maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in school settings or with school-age children preferred.
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance, negative pre-employment drug screen, and negative TB test results required; must pass the District's Proficiency Examination.

Responsibilities

• Assists instructional personnel with development and presentation of learning materials and exercises.
• Tutors students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Monitors and assists in administration of student testing and scores.
• Oversees and supervises students during classroom activities, on campus/play fields, in the library and on field trips.
• Maintains student records and attendance; maintains discipline in absence of the teacher.
• Operates instructional media and office equipment; maintains materials and equipment records.
