Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Rockford, IL is seeking a part-time plasma donor screener and phlebotomist to ensure donors receive safe, courteous care. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports donor screening, vital signs, and chart preparation.

Responsibilities include greeting donors, coordinating compensation, and identifying process improvements. Shifts include evenings, weekends and holidays, with a starting hourly wage of $16.00.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire shift.
• Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
• Ability to lift up to 32 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Fine-motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
• Wear gloves for 90% of tasks due to exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
• At least one year of experience in a customer or patient-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and greet donors, ensuring their safety.
• Screen new and repeat donors, take and record vital signs and finger‑stick results.
• Use the Donor Information System to prepare charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate compensation.
• Identify operational improvement opportunities and initiate changes using approved procedures.
• Work a variety of shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
