Job summary

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician for Germantown Hospital. This part-time role (20 hours/week) covers day shifts and requires accurate specimen collection and labeling within the Laboratory Support Services department.

Required: high school diploma/GED, phlebotomy competency, and ability to venipuncture independently. Strong communication, time management, and flexibility to cover weekends are essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Six months' phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• One-year recent phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Ability to perform venipuncture independently and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication with patients and hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and ensure proper specimen labeling with 100% accuracy.
• Participate in specimen processing, distribution and central accessioning.
• Accurately process and accession incoming laboratory specimens.
• Document all required patient and specimen identification information.
• Serve as liaison between physicians, nursing units, patient care teams and the laboratory.
• Provide test status updates and clarify physician orders.
• Generate and assist in charting reports to patient care units.
• Perform reporting functions and act as receptionist for the department.
• Support Trinity Health mission and hospital operations.
