Job summary

Trinity Health's Holy Cross Germantown Hospital is seeking a part-time Phlebotomy Technician (20 hours weekly, day shift). The role includes specimen collection, labeling, processing, and serving as a liaison to physicians, nurses, and lab staff.

Position requires timely charting and adherence to policies, with a focus on patient safety and care. Responsibilities include documenting patient/ specimen data, assisting with reporting activities, and supporting the laboratory chain from collection

Qualifications

• High School graduate, GED or higher required.
• Six (6) months professional phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• One-year recent phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Must be able to perform venipuncture successfully and independently.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and properly label specimens in collection.
• Assist in specimen processing, distribution and accessioning.
• Process and accession laboratory specimens accurately.
• Document patient and specimen information correctly.
• Serve as a liaison between physicians, nurses, and laboratory staff.
• Provide test status information and clarifications of orders.
• Prepare and chart reports for patient care units and ensure timely delivery.
