Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and specimen processing at a Germantown Hills client site in IL. The role requires working Monday through Thursday 7:30am - 11am and delivering excellent customer service within a team-focused environment.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, order entry, result verification, and maintaining safety standards while supporting the lab and patient care teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization or CMA certification is required.
• One or more years of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and lab specimen collections per age-related standards and policies.
• Demonstrates AIDET model and patient safety to reduce errors.
• Receives and reviews physician orders and enters accurate lab test orders.
• Communicates and notifies lab/physician of issues with specimen procurement.
• Handles routine lab clerical duties including order entry and result verification.
• Maintains safety, biohazard procedures, and proper storage of materials.
