Job summary

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is seeking adjunct instructors to deliver didactic and clinical phlebotomy instruction across workforce training programs. Positions are adjunct, course-by-course, and may include face-to-face with potential remote instruction in a regional setting.

Responsibilities include maintaining student records, developing assessments, and coordinating with faculty on curriculum while upholding PVCC policies and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a phlebotomist (NHA, ASCP, etc.)
• Two years of direct patient care as a phlebotomist
• Combination of education and industry credentials to demonstrate content expertise
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Commitment to community college philosophy and student success

Responsibilities

• Provide effective didactic and skills instruction to engage an adult learner audience
• Maintain a positive and safe learning environment
• Ensure adherence to policies and procedures
• Serve as a role model and advocate for student success
• Hold review, remediation and office hour sessions for students
• Maintain participation and performance records
• Collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment
• Provide timely and appropriate response to student, staff and partner inquiries
• Report incidents; participate in professional development and partner onboarding requirements
• Maintain professional competence, certifications/licensure
• Assist in student recruitment activities
