Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and correctly identify them using proper identifiers.
• Perform venipuncture and dermal collections, therapeutic phlebotomy, and blood culture collection with aseptic technique.
• Label specimens per requirements and prepare for transport to the lab.
• Document specimen information in the laboratory information system.
• Maintain phlebotomy equipment and report issues to leadership as needed.
• Assist with specimen processing and distribution to different lab departments.
• Follow HIPAA, safety and infection control guidelines, and communicate with internal/external customers.
