Job summary

Washington Regional Medical System in Fayetteville, AR seeks a Phlebotomist for a full-time, Monday–Friday role from 4:00am to 12:30pm. The position involves proper collection, labeling, and transport of blood specimens, working with lab staff and clinical teams to ensure accurate testing and patient care.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED; national phlebotomy certification is preferred. Prior acute hospital phlebotomy experience is also preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• National phlebotomy certification is preferred.
• Experience in an acute hospital setting or phlebotomy role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patient and properly identify them.
• Perform venipuncture procedures and collect blood specimens including blood cultures.
• Label specimens per requirements and prepare for transport.
• Assist with phlebotomy equipment troubleshooting.
• Document specimen information in the laboratory information system.
• Maintain and clean phlebotomy equipment and report issues.
• Assist with specimen processing and distribution to lab departments.
• Comply with HIPAA and safety guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
