Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist II for Rutherford, NJ, with a part-time schedule: Wednesday 4:00 PM–7:00 PM and Saturday 8:30 AM–1:00 PM. The role emphasizes accurate specimen collection and strong data entry skills in a laboratory setting.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, preferred phlebotomy certification, and three years of phlebotomy experience including pediatric and geriatric collections. Weekend availability and reliable transportation are essential.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Verify test/client orders using lab systems, client contact, and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required, following policies.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and transport prep.
• Perform non-patient duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, phones, and email.
• Read and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner and logs such as maintenance and temperature.
• Complete online and in person training courses timely.
