Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Phlebotomist I for a part-time role in Carmel, NY (Saturday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM). The position involves collecting specimens, processing samples, and supporting data entry and billing workflows in a fast-paced lab setting.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent; phlebotomy training is preferred, with certification desirable. Excellent English communication is required to interact with patients and clinical staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screenings, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information and collect payments as required.
• Process specimens (labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport).
• Perform non-patient facing duties (inventory, stock, sanitation, filing, phones, email).
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics/data submission when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and maintenance logs.
