Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Inc is seeking a Phlebotomist I for a part-time role in San Antonio, TX. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with rotational weekends, and pay starts at $20.00 per hour.

The role involves collecting specimens, handling samples, and ensuring accurate data entry and patient interaction within established procedures. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, phlebotomy training or certification preferred, and at least one year of phlebotomy experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems.
• Navigate computer and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock, sanitation, filing, phones, emails.
• Read, understand and comply with policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submissions.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs (timely).
• Complete online and in-person training timely.
