Job summary

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist Clinical Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications and maintaining patient records in Pharmacy. These duties require skill and training but does not include making clinical judgments that require a pharmacist professional judgment.

Certified Pharmacy Technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Ages of patients served range from neonatal to geriatric.

Qualifications

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification is required.
• Registration with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy before starting.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications.
• Maintain drug inventory and patient records in Pharmacy.
• Procure and distribute medication orders per physician or pharmacist requests.
• Operate under supervision of a registered pharmacist.
