Job summary

Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic in Toppenish is seeking a Part-time Pharmacy Technician. You will enter patient data, process prescriptions, dispense meds, and manage refills while maintaining stock, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork in a busy clinic and requires strong communication. The position offers benefits including health insurance, retirement planning, PTO, and holidays, with a schedule of 24 hours per week across three days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year's experience in a pharmacy setting preferred.
• Pharmacy Technician license for states of practice.
• Active Pharmacy Intern License for states of practice.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; strong communication skills.
• Effective verbal and listening communication with customers.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to perform administrative tasks (phones, filing, faxing, scanning, copying).
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Organize work while handling multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Basic MS Office proficiency.
• Basic knowledge of a pharmacy software system and ability to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient data in the system including name, insurance, allergies, doctor and diagnosis.
• Enter prescriptions, select brand/product/strength per provider instructions.
• Fill or dispense products from stock and deliver to patient.
• Process prescription refills verifying availability.
• Monitor stock levels and order restocking based on minimum inventory levels.
• Verify orders with invoice and purchase order; label items and shelve.
• Check expiration dates, return expired stock to wholesaler with credit invoices.
• Return or discard dispensed prescriptions not picked up within 30 days.
• Complete third-party billing forms; obtain prior authorization if required.
• Perform clinical tasks in alignment with TJC/HRSA and YVFWC requirements.
