Job summary

Food Lion in Henderson, NC is seeking a Perishable Department associate to deliver fast, friendly, and accurate service while maintaining standards. You will handle meat and dairy items, receive deliveries, stock items, and follow food safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include stocking, rotating stock, using inventory tools, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety rules. Training through CBT and other courses will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.

• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO for inventory and ordering.
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and store products.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise is done in accordance with policies and guidelines.
• Maintain product levels in all Perishable Department areas (meat, lunchmeat, frozen, dairy, ice cream).
• Process beef and grinds as directed from the production plan and as requested or needed.
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat case as requested or needed.
• Assemble, disassemble, and clean the grinder as requested or needed.
• Clean and sanitize the department and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Maintain layout standards and ensure advertising materials are used properly.
• Follow Food Lion guidelines and standard practices; comply with safety regulations.
• Observe and report accidents and safety issues per procedures.
• Meet local, state, and federal regulations and wear the uniform properly.
