YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties in Gig Harbor, WA is seeking a Part-Time Performing Arts Instructor to lead beginner through adult classes at the Tom Taylor Family YMCA. Wages are $17.13–$20.70 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• 5 years of formal training in performing arts or comparable experience.
• 1–2 years of experience as a teacher or teaching assistant.
• Ability to instruct beginning and intermediate classes.
• Willingness to teach ages preschool through adult.

Responsibilities

• Follow/Implement YMCA Quality Standards and Well Being themes in Youth Programming and Staff Development.
• Create progressive class lesson plans reflecting abilities and ages.
• Ensure materials/content are developmentally appropriate and reflect YMCA values.
• Provide lesson plans, supply list, and budget to Arts Director as requested.
• Participate in performances and YMCA events as assigned.
• Communicate program information and student progress as needed.
