Job summary

Community Healing Centers in Niles, MI is seeking a Part-Time Peer Recovery Coach to support our new men's jail program onsite. The role centers on peer-led recovery, empowerment, and collaboration with clinical staff to aid individuals in their recovery journeys.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of CCAR training or equivalent.
• Experiential knowledge of the recovery process and current stable recovery.
• Knowledge of 12-step programs.
• MCBAP certification or ability to obtain MCBAP certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate services/supports to peers.
• Assist peers in identifying strengths and barriers to recovery.
• Assist clinical staff in the provision of jail services.
• Support culturally competent, recovery-based practices and trauma-informed care.
• Provide information, training, and advocacy for peers and families.
• Model a recovery-based lifestyle and share personal experiences to support others.
• Develop services for stakeholder groups and facilitate group activities.
• Participate in required Peer Support trainings.
• Prepare/submits reports and obtain authorization for PSS services.
• Maintain professional relationships with referral sources.
