PART TIME MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Medical Assistants (MA) will partner with the providers of Chicago ENT to ensure prompt, accurate, and compassionate patient care. Chicago ENT is seeking experienced MA candidates interested in growing their skills in this unique and comprehensive ENT care setting. This role will report to the MA Lead. This is a part-time position Monday-Wednesday 8:30AM-5PM.

Occasional travel to Skokie, Lakeview, Halsted, and Peterson practices is required.

  • The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Physicians, Mid-Level Practitioners, and Registered Nurses with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients in an ambulatory care setting.
  • The Medical Assistant will work with children.
  • The Medical Assistant assumes responsibility for maintaining patient flow, the upkeep of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing.
  • The Medical Assistant will administer intramuscular injections, immunizations, and over-the-counter medications under the direction of a Physician.
  • The Medical Assistant will be cross trained over time in all specialties and ancillary services including ENT, Sleep, Allergy, Cosmetic, CT, and Triage.
  • The Medical Assistant must be available to work scheduled hours and travel between all office locations where their assigned provider hosts clinic.
  • The MA Lead will assign a weekly schedule not to exceed 40 hours.
  • The schedule may be between the hours of 7AM to 7PM.
  • The schedule may be 5 days including Monday to Saturday.
  • The Medical Assistant must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF A Medical Assistant

  • Assist Physicians, Mid-Level Practitioners, and Registered Nurses in patient evaluation, management, and treatment.
  • Work with children.
  • Maintain patient flow, exam and treatment room upkeep, and perform basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing.
  • Administer intramuscular injections, immunizations, and OTC medications under physician supervision.
  • Cross-train in all specialties and ancillary services over time.
  • Travel between office locations as scheduled.
  • Work scheduled hours, not exceeding 40 hours weekly.
  • Availability between 7AM and 7PM, Monday to Saturday.
  • Stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program preferred.
  • Minimum two years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Previous surgical experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Preferred: Current Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT.

All employees must provide proof of vaccination or exemption. A valid driver’s license is preferred.

WAGE

$18-22.00 + Travel Reimbursement
