Schedule Details/Additional Information:

The clinic is open from 8:00am-6:30pm Monday through Thursday, Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm, and Saturday from 9:00am to 12:30pm. There are no guaranteed hours; this position is for filling in as needed. Opportunities may exist to cover other clinics that are short-staffed.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in the patient care team by supporting physicians and clinicians in delivering high-quality healthcare to ambulatory patients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with clinical duties such as taking medical histories and supporting physical examinations
  • Acting as a liaison between patients, physicians, and clinicians
  • Measuring vital signs
  • Preparing and administering vaccines and medications
  • Documenting patient information in the electronic health record
  • Collecting specimens for testing

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduation from a medical assistant program or at least two years of recent verifiable medical assistant experience
  • Good communication skills and experience with computers and keyboards
  • Familiarity with ambulatory care equipment
  • Current AHA CPR certification
  • Ability to travel locally to multiple sites as needed
  • Ability to work under stress and in difficult situations
  • Resilience and flexibility in a changing environment
  • Teamwork and cooperation skills
  • Sound and timely decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work rotating shifts any day of the week
  • Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance, with use of patient handling equipment for heavier lifts, assessed case-by-case

Pay Range: $21.45 - $32.20
