Job summary

King & George seeks a Payroll Clerk to manage employee pay processing, verify hours, handle deductions, and maintain confidential payroll records in Fort Worth, TX. Qualifications

  • Proficient written and oral communication.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to read, write and comprehend documents.
  • Ability to work in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and algebra.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and read bar graphs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good organizational skills with multitasking ability.
  • Strong verbal communication and active listening.
  • Interpersonal skills including conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain payroll information by collating, calculating, and entering data.
  • Audit payroll data for union agreements, SCA, and government regulations.
  • Update payroll records by entering changes.
  • Prepare reports summarizing earnings, tax deductions, leave, and non-taxable wages.
  • Calculate payroll liabilities including taxes and employer contributions.
  • Ensure deductions and earnings are correct for each payroll.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee queries.
  • Process and issue W‑2 forms.

Education

High school diploma or GED
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field (preferred)
2+ years payroll experience (preferred)
