Modern Aviation Inc in Amarillo, TX, is seeking a part-time Accounting & Payroll Specialist to support payroll accounting, reconciliation, and reporting. The role collaborates with Payroll, Accounting, HR, and Finance to ensure accurate GL entries and balance sheet reconciliations.

Up to 20 hours per week with duties including journal entries, period close support, audits, and process improvements. HS diploma is required, with an associate degree preferred and proficiency with Excel and MS

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• 2-3 years of payroll, payroll accounting, or related experience preferred.
• Experience with payroll reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• Experience using a payroll or HRIS platform and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review payroll results and validate accuracy for proper accounting.
• Prepare, upload, and validate payroll journal entries.
• Maintain payroll account mappings and GL coding.
• Reconcile payroll-related GL and balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare payroll reports and support audits.
• Identify process improvements in payroll accounting.
