Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Transporter at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, PA. This part-time position (24 hours per week) involves moving patients throughout the hospital using appropriate equipment in a safe and timely manner.

The transporter will demonstrate sound judgment in transport decisions, maintain patient safety, and show compassion and empathy for patients while practicing strict infection control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior hospital transport or patient care experience required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients throughout the hospital with appropriate equipment in a safe and timely manner.
• Demonstrate good judgment in selecting proper mode of transportation.
• Be respectful of patients and show compassion and empathy.
• Maintain patient safety in preparation for transport to ancillary areas and upon return to unit.
• Demonstrate proper infection control practices and precautions in all patient care activities.
