Job summary

Eye Associates of New Mexico in Santa Fe is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our Patient Services team. This regular part-time role supports patient check-in, insurance verification, and scheduling in a fast-paced ophthalmology and optometry practice.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Training and/or experience in bookkeeping preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced medical office.

Responsibilities

• Contact patients prior to their appointments to obtain correct insurance and demographic information for preparation of their medical charts.
• Accurately enter patient information into the computer.
• Check for valid insurance plan referrals.
• Verify co-payments; copy insurance cards.
• Check the patient out after the visit.
• Collect appropriate payment and issue receipts.
• Complete daily cash reports.
