Job summary

Fairview Health Services' Midway Campus in St. Paul seeks a part-time Patient Placement RN (0.6 FTE) to join our team. The role supports safe, efficient care by coordinating patient flow and timely placements across the health system, including PACU, ED and procedural areas.

Shifts are day or evening with weekend rotation. The RN coordinates transfers, evaluates bed availability, collaborates with hospital staff and physicians, and communicates ongoing capacity to leaders.

Qualifications

• ASN/ADN or higher in nursing.
• 3 years hospital RN experience.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient flow and internal/external transfers across M Health Fairview.
• Prioritize placements based on patient need and hospital capacity.
• Expedite transfers from PACU, ED and other procedural areas.
• Identify and evaluate bed availability in all patient care departments.
• Maintain and communicate the global picture of system capacity.
• Collaborate with site leaders, charge nurses and managers to optimize bed utilization.
