Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Part-Time Patient Care Technician to support daily living activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse or LPN. You will assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility while communicating with the healthcare team and patients' families.

The role involves monitoring vital signs, performing point-of-care testing and other duties such as phlebotomy if certified, and participating in education, satisfaction initiatives, and staff orientation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a PCT course or CNA program or equivalent patient care experience.
• BLS certification; phlebotomy training may be required for some roles.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, mobility).
• Communicate with and support the healthcare team and patients’ families.
• Monitor vital signs, perform point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Reinforce patient and family education on care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction and performance improvement initiatives.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
