Job summary

Dayton Children's is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Assistant to support nurses in the Cardiology - EKG department. The role focuses on compassionate patient care, accurate vital signs, and collaboration with the care team.

The PCA will assist with activities of daily living, maintain patient safety, and help with clerical tasks as needed. Education or certification in healthcare is required, with CPR preferred at hire or within two weeks.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required.
• PCA training or experience or enrollment in a health care program is required.
• 1–2 years STNA experience in hospital setting preferred.
• CPR is preferred at hire or must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.

Responsibilities

• Measuring and recording vital signs.
• Assisting patients with activities of daily living.
• Providing safe transportation and environment for patients.
• Supporting clinical and clerical duties as needed.
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and reporting information as indicated.
• Contributing to a patient- and family-centered experience.
