Job summary

The City of Maryland Heights Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a part-time Parks Maintenance Aide to assist the full-time staff in maintaining the City’s park facilities. This year-round, part-time role supports upkeep and maintenance tasks and requires availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• General knowledge of Parks rules and regulations.
• Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must wear PPE and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to work with supervisors or independently.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs various manual labor, custodial duties, park maintenance and related tasks.
• Operates mowing equipment and trims park areas.
• Reports safety concerns to supervisor.
• Maintains landscaped areas including watering, weeding and mulching.
• Removes trash from all areas of the facility.
