Job summary

The City of Baltimore is hiring Seasonal Maintenance Aides with the Baltimore City Recreation & Parks, Bureau of Parks, Divisions of Horticulture and Park Maintenance. The role performs routine outdoor labor in landscaping, maintenance, and park projects under supervision.

Work may include evenings, weekends, and overtime during emergencies. Applicants must have a valid Maryland Class C noncommercial driver’s license and be prepared for strenuous physical activity.

Qualifications

• Following instructions and safety rules is required.
• Ability to perform strenuous outdoor labor in various weather conditions.
• Competence in operating basic landscape tools and equipment.
• Ability to communicate with the public and direct traffic when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscaping and cleanup in parks and city spaces.
• Mow grass, trim bushes, plant and mulch vegetation.
• Remove debris and trash from parks and sidewalks; manage recycling.
• Assist in directing traffic and maintaining safety at worksites.
• Operate basic tools and equipment; lift and move supplies as required.
• Work five days per week, with evenings, weekends, and possible overtime.
