Job summary

Washtenaw Community College is seeking a Part Time Parkridge Community Center - Support Staff member. The position supports after-school and summer programs, assists in delivering student-centered classes, and handles front desk and classroom setup tasks at the Parkridge Center off-campus.

The role requires working mornings to evenings, up to 20 hours per week, with potential Saturdays. The work environment is on-site and customer-service oriented, with emphasis on confidentiality and data entry

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED plus College coursework.
• Ability to work successfully with diverse patrons of all ages, ethnicities, genders, and backgrounds.
• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work mornings and afternoons between 9am and 9pm Monday - Saturday.
• Ability to use workplace technology including AI-supported tools and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Support activities during Parkridge Center’s After School and Summer Programs.
• Provide support in the delivery of student-centered classes, workshops and activities.
• Perform routine duties such as: classroom set up, front desk support and room preparation, monitor supply levels; and cleaning.
• Assist center management with basic data entry for reporting i.e., programming, finances, metrics
• Assist in providing a high level of customer service to a diverse customer base through information sharing, instruction and assistance.
• Demonstrate ability to work in a safe, diverse, kid friendly atmosphere with strong attention to detail while being able to provide face-to-face, telephone and email assistance to students and their families.
• Attend staff meetings, department meetings and trainings assigned by the college and appropriate leadership.
• Utilize technology, including AI-enabled tools and software where appropriate, to support the effective performance of assigned duties, enhance productivity, improve communication and information management, support decision-making, and other responsibilities, while ensuring compliance with confidentiality requirements, institutional policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of College Career Readiness
