Job summary

The City of Jacksonville seeks an entry-level Maintenance Worker to perform unskilled and semi-skilled labor in public parking facilities. Tasks include general maintenance, custodial duties, and assisting customers with automated devices.

Work is primarily in the field with some office time, following established procedures and supervision. Responsibilities include: maintaining safe, clean facilities; handling tickets and money; performing routine and preventative maintenance on devices; and

Qualifications

• Must be bondable.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and apply written material.
• Public parking industry experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required and must be maintained during employment.
• Ability to travel between locations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor facility by walking to ensure safety and cleanliness and perform custodial care.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as painting, pressure washing, and landscaping.
• Assist customers and ensure a safe, friendly experience.
• Monitor automated parking devices and perform maintenance.
• Collect money, issue tickets, and account for funds.
• Operate ticket dispensers, clocks, gates, and radios during shifts.
• Report improper parking or security concerns.
