Job summary

The City of Fredericksburg is seeking a part-time Parking Enforcement Officer to patrol city areas, issue parking tickets, and assist the public with parking regulations. This role requires strong communication and tact, and involves maintaining citation records and coordinating with other departments to ensure safe, orderly parking.

Hours are flexible within a 9 a.m.–5 p.m. window, about 24 hours weekly, with a pay range of $17.33–$19.00 per hour, DOQ.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of related experience or training.
• Or equivalent education, and/or experience.
• A valid Virginia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas and issue citations for violations.
• Provide information to the public regarding parking regulations.
• Keep accurate records of citations and collaborate with city departments.
• Operate the AutoChalk parking enforcement system and tow vehicles when necessary.
