The City of Fredericksburg is hiring a part-time Parking Enforcement Officer for the Fredericksburg Police Department. You will patrol assigned areas, issue parking citations, and assist the public with parking regulations, while maintaining accurate records of tickets and coordinating with city departments to keep order.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of related experience or training, and a valid Virginia driver’s license.
Hiring Range: $17.33/hour - $19.00/hour DOQ
Part-Time: 24 hours per week, flexible between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mon-Fri
The Fredericksburg Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Parking Enforcement Officer. Duties include patrolling assigned areas, issuing citations for violations, and providing information to the public regarding parking regulations. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to handle situations with tact and professionalism. Additionally, the position involves keeping accurate records of citations and collaborating with other city departments to ensure a safe and orderly parking environment.
Enforce all parking laws outlined in the Fredericksburg City Code and write parking tickets for any violations of city code.
Respond to and investigate parking-related complaints, and testify in court for contested parking tickets.
Operate the AutoChalk parking enforcement system and tow vehicles when necessary due to parking violations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
