Job summary

Building Connections Academy in Martinez, CA is hiring a School-Based Special Education Paraprofessional to deliver 1:1 behavioral and academic support to students with autism and related needs.

You will implement individualized programs, help students communicate and socialize, and foster independence in a safe, engaging classroom. In-person hours are Mon-Fri with a 8:30AM–3:00PM schedule; RBT certification is required or pursued within 90 days, with paid training.

Join a supportive, mission-driven team at Building Connections Academy (a special education nonpublic school with locations in Concord and Martinez, CA), where we help students grow, learn, and build independence.

About the Role:

• Hours: In-person, Monday to Friday between 8:30AM to 3:00PM.
  • Current Available Hours Monday to Friday from 10:00AM to 2:00PM.
• Pay: $22–$28/HR (based on experience, certification, and education).
• Certification: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) required or willingness to become certified within 90 days (paid training included!).

As a School-Based Special Education Paraprofessional, you’ll provide 1:1 behavioral and academic support to students with autism and other developmental differences. You’ll help students develop communication, social, and life skills while fostering a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• Passion for working with children and helping them succeed.
• RBT certification (or willing to obtain within 90 days).
• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s in related field preferred).
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
• Required immunizations including MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis), Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hep B, and TB clearance (within 4 years).
