Picotte Elementary in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking a Paraprofessional for Early Childhood Inclusive (ECI). This part-time, temporary role starts January 2027 for the second semester, with 5.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday.

The paraprofessional will assist in individual or small-group settings under teacher direction, support classroom operations, and help with student care tasks including transitions and self-care activities. Strong physical ability and confidentiality are required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or completion of required college hours; competency in reading, writing and math via state or locally approved competency test.
• Willingness to complete early childhood education coursework; CDA preferred.
• Must lift at least 50 pounds and physically interact with children.

Responsibilities

• Work with children individually or in small groups under teacher direction.
• Assist with classroom duties: bulletin boards, preparing materials, readying equipment, snacks, etc.
• Assist children in arts and crafts activities.
• Assist students during transitions and while dressing.
• Observe and record behavior and help with teacher's reporting and record-keeping.
