The paraprofessional will assist students individually or in small groups, help with classroom setup and routines, support self-care and transitions, and perform various tasks to support instruction and activities in the ECSE

Qualifikationen

• Associate's Degree or 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours, or demonstrated proficiency via competency test.
• Associate's Degree or CDA preferred.
• Willingness to complete early childhood education coursework.
• Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards preferred.
• Must be able to physically interact with children (bend, kneel, sit on floor, lift, climb, walk).
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be flexible and able to adapt to sudden changes.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.
• Ability to demonstrate appropriate communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Work with children individually or in small groups under teacher direction.
• Assist with miscellaneous classroom duties (bulletin boards, materials, equipment, cleaning, snacks, duplicating materials).
• Assist children in arts and crafts activities.
• Assist/accompany students during transitions in and out of the ECSE classroom.
• Assist the teacher with routine reporting and student information.
• Assist with removing and putting on outer apparel.
• Assist in positioning and bracing of students.
• Support during field trips, drills, and unusual situations.
• Observe and record behavior and assist with teaching techniques.
• Assist students with toileting and self-care activities.
