Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department is hiring a Paramedic for a part-time role in Texas. You will assess calls, provide advanced patient care, drive ambulances on 911 responses, and lead scene operations as needed.

This position requires active Paramedic licensure, CPR/BLS, ACLS, NREMT-Paramedic, and a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Prior healthcare experience is preferred and you will engage with community programs to uphold our public image.

Qualifications

• State Paramedic License or equivalent is required.
• Current BLS/ACLS and NREMT-Paramedic certifications.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass Physical Agility Test.
• Prior healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call to determine best action per Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize paramedic skills with defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction, IVs.
• Communicate with patients and families to provide information and assurance.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and scene/unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image.
