Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• State Paramedic License is required.
• State Driver’s License is required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NREMT-Paramedic certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action using Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction, and IV fluids.
• Communicate with patients and families to provide information and assurance of care.
• Lead the Paramedic team and assume scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
• Participate in community programs to uphold the department’s image and relations.
