Job summary

Westtown School in West Chester, PA is seeking an experienced Security Officer for part-time Saturday overnight coverage from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Additional shifts may be available.

You will patrol campus buildings and grounds, monitor cameras, and respond to incidents to ensure a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR/AED certification, valid driver's license, and prior security experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security of the school community, buildings, and campus.
• Perform regular rounds on foot or by vehicle and monitor surveillance cameras.
• Respond to alarms and assist during emergencies.
• Provide basic first aid and medical attention as appropriate.
• Complete daily activity logs and pass information to relevant personnel.
• Notify police, fire department, and school officials as needed.
• Participate in required training and departmental meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Part-time Saturday Overnight Security Officer

Westtown School seeks an experienced Security Officer to work part-time on Saturdays from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Additional shifts may be available. Security Officers are responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the school community, all buildings, and the surrounding campus. Security Officers provide on-campus security through regular rounds and camera surveillance. As essential school personnel, Security Officers are expected to be available during inclement weather and other school-closing situations.

Provide a safe and secure environment for students, employees, campus residents, and guests;

Responsible for maintaining the safety and security of all campus buildings and grounds through regular rounds , either on foot or in a motorized vehicle;

Investigate and report unsafe conditions and suspicious activity;

Develop and maintain positive and professional relations with students, parents, faculty, staff, and visitors;

Respond promptly to all alarms and calls for assistance;

Provide basic first aid and medical attention as appropriate;

Complete a log of daily activities and provide "pass-on" information to department personnel;

Notify police, fire department, and appropriate school officials of any situation requiring immediate attention or emergency response;

Participate in departmental meetings and required training;

Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to patrol the property and access all areas quickly

Sufficient vision (with correction) to read and observe at a distance

Sufficient hearing (with correction) to perceive information at normal spoken word levels

Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, a golf cart can be used for campus transportation between buildings

Ability to do considerable walking to conduct rounds and safety inspections

Sufficient stamina to work outside in bad weather conditions when required

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and monitoring surveillance equipment

Must be able to ascend and descend stairs

May require climbing, standing for long periods, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, and repetitive motions.
