Job summary

WINGS Program, Inc. in Chicago, IL is seeking a part-time Awake Overnight House Advocate to keep the Safe House running smoothly at night. The role supports adults and children experiencing domestic violence and provides crisis intervention and intake evaluation.

The position requires an Associate degree in social services, DV training, CPR/First Aid, and the ability to stay awake at night. Hours include evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to help the community and gain related

Qualifications

• Associate degree in social services or equivalent experience.
• 40 Hour Domestic Violence Training provided if needed.
• CPR and First Aid certification provided if needed.
• Food handler certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Basic computer skills and data entry accuracy.
• Ability to work independently, stay awake at night, and stay organized.
• Strong professionalism, good judgment, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Crisis Line with intervention, counseling, safety planning, and referrals.
• Conduct intake and eligibility evaluations for Safe House services.
• Interact with guests and model social skills and daily living.
• Supervise house policies and coordinate chores.
• Identify guest needs and communicate with staff for donations.
• Perform hourly rounds to ensure safety and report concerns.
• Maintain client files, statistics, and census records.
• Update roster and shift reports; assist with meals and donations.
