Job summary

Epic Orthodontics in the Knoxville/Lenoir City area is seeking a part-time dental assistant to join our team on Wednesdays through Fridays, with some Mondays as needed. You will present patients to the doctor, take and develop digital radiographs, and record notes in the patient chart.

The role includes assisting the dentist during procedures, taking impressions, scheduling follow-ups, sterilizing equipment, and helping with lab work and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Present the patient to the doctor and assist during procedures.
• Take, expose, and develop digital radiographs (panoramic).
• Record and maintain clinical notes in the patient chart.
• Provide hygiene and diet education to patients.
• Take impressions and assist with lab work when needed.
• Schedule follow-up exams and manage room sterilization and equipment upkeep.
• Maintain infection control and OSHA guideline adherence.
• Assist with referrals and participate in community service projects.

This is a part-time position Wednesday-Friday, and may be required on select Mondays.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Present the patient to the doctor.
• Take, expose, and develop digital radiographs (panoramic).
• Record and maintain clinical notes in the patient chart.

• Assist the dentist during treatment procedures in office.
• Take impressions.
• Schedule follow-up exams.
• Sanitize dental chairs and operatory rooms.
• Parent consults-discuss treatment plans/if chairside
• Clean and sterilize instruments.
• Equipment maintenance
• Lab work.
• Restock supplies in rooms and sterilization area.
• Infection control & maintenance of OSHA guidelines.
• Write letters to be sent to referrals.
• Participate in office community service projects.
• Other duties as assigned by Clinic Coordinator, Office Manager, Practice Administrator, or Dentists
