Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Orientation & Mobility.
• Current COMS certification (ACVREP).
• Experience providing O&M services to children or students with visual impairments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand each student’s needs and conduct Orientation and Mobility evaluations, document findings, and provide recommendations.
• Develop individualized instruction aligned with students’ IEPs, addressing spatial awareness, environmental concepts, sensory strategies, and route planning.
• Teach mobility tools, cane techniques, adaptive devices, and travel-related assistive technology as needed.
• Build skills across settings by practicing O&M in school and community environments.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate service records to guide instruction.
• Partner with families and school teams during ARD meetings to reinforce O&M skills.
