Job summary

Allied Instructional in the Auburn area, Alabama seeks a certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist to join our team of independent contractors. This on-site, itinerant role works with local school divisions to assess and support students with visual impairments.

The successful candidate will develop and implement IEPs, stay current with best practices and travel technologies, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and service providers to foster independence.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Professional Certification and/or licensure in Orientation and Mobility.
• Experience in school settings with O&M preferred.
• Knowledge of assessment and instructional practices for O&M.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive O&M assessments for students.
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to visual impairments.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and service providers.
• Apply evidence-based practices and travel technologies for safe mobility.
