Job summary

Banner Surgery Center – Chandler in Chandler, AZ is seeking a part-time registered nurse to join our surgical services team. The role focuses on assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

You will provide direct patient care, ensure timely documentation, and mentor other staff where needed. A strong commitment to patient safety, evidence-based practice, and compassionate service is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or diploma in nursing required.
• Current RN license in state of practice.
• BLS and ACLS required.
• PALS certification required within 90 days of start date if assigned ASC pediatrics.
• Core (FT/PT): Minimum one-year licensed RN experience in OR or other procedural areas with approval.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs.
• Formulates a plan of care, including discharge planning and realistic goals in collaboration with patient/family.
• Implements the plan of care, coordinating and supervising the health care team.
• Evaluates progress and revises the plan of care with the team.
• Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record.
• Provides care based on best evidence and participates in education and leadership activities.
• Promotes excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, equitable, and safe care.
• Note: essential functions may be expanded by the manager.
• May provide relief charge for staff in some locations.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
