Founded in 1947 by Nina Vance, the Alley Theatre is a pioneer of regional theatre, and one of the leading nonprofit theatre companies in the United States delivering world class theater on its two stages and through its education and community engagement work. The Alley has been awarded the prestigious Regional Theatre Tony Award® and the Texas Medal of Arts Award. The Alley has transferred productions to Broadway, Off-Broadway, major European Festivals, and to 40 American cities. JOB STATEMENT

The Part-time Operations Assistant works closely with the Director of Operations handling the day-to-day operations and event execution of the Alley Theatre.

JOB DUTIES
  • Assist the Operations Team with maintaining the conference and event rooms, as well as all kitchens in the facilities.
  • Assist Reception with processing and sorting mail.
  • Order, build and maintain office furniture.
  • Assist with internal and external event setup and execution.
  • Cover for Receptionist when necessary.
  • Archive Maintenance.
  • Complete other tasks and projects as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. routinely.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where directions and priorities can change rapidly.
  • Position requires flexibility to be available for daytime, weekend, and evening work hours as needed.
