Job summary

Georgia Oncology and Hematology Consultants is seeking a Medical Assistant to assist physicians with procedures in the office, perform phlebotomy and lab testing, and maintain quality control across the lab environment. The role includes charting, specimen handling, and EMR documentation to ensure seamless patient care.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, BLS certification, and at least one year of clinical venipuncture experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Certifications/Licenses: BLS required.
• Valid Driver's License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• One-year experience as a medical assistant with venipuncture.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with medical procedures in office.
• Perform phlebotomy and laboratory testing with quality control.
• Maintain equipment records and QA/QC logs.
• Prepare blood or bone marrow slides for evaluation.
• Receive lab reports and document in EMR; support billing clarity.
• Obtain vital signs and document in EMR; assist with exams.
• Support outside testing and referrals as directed by physicians.
• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
