Job summary

Millersville University’s Tell School of Music seeks a temporary, part-time instructor to teach undergraduate music courses on campus with some online components.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Kodaly pedagogy and K-12 general music instruction and will supervise student teachers, participate in interviews and demonstrations.

This position is contingent on enrollment and requires a professional commitment to inclusive excellence and effective, engaging teaching.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Music Education or equivalent.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience teaching K-12 general music.
• Ability to supervise and mentor student teachers at K-5 and/or middle/high school levels.
• Successful interview and background checks.
• Teaching undergraduate courses in Music; in-person on campus with some online components.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses and supervise student teachers in face-to-face settings.
• Conduct observations, provide feedback, and mentor student teachers in their professional development.
• Maintain prorated office hours each week for teaching workload.
• Participation in interviews and teaching demonstrations as part of the hiring process.
