Millersville University is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Studio Percussion Instructor to teach percussion students in various music programs. The Tell School of Music at Millersville University is seeking a part-time instructor to teach percussion students in our Music Industry, Music Education, BA, and minor programs. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in percussion pedagogy and performance across one or more of the following areas: jazz drumset, classical percussion, and contemporary popular music / commercial drumset. A temporary, part-time studio instructor will teach individual half-hour and hour-long studio percussion lessons each week, lead a weekly hour-long masterclass for percussion studio students, and may also teach percussion methods courses for Music Education majors.
Teaching will be done in a traditional learning environment. Part-time faculty members shall maintain a prorated number of office hours each week, at a minimum of twenty-five (25) minutes for each workload hour taught, at such days, times and locations as will accommodate the needs of the students. This position requires in-person instruction on Millersville University’s campus and is contingent upon sufficient enrollments in assigned classes.
Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications as well as aligned with the details contained in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Millersville University Promotion Statement.
