Job summary

St. Clair County Community College is seeking part-time adjunct instructors to teach on-campus sections of ENG 100, English Composition I with Basic Writing Skills.

The position is part-time, on a-semester basis, Exempt from FLSA, and requires a Master’s degree (or higher) with teaching responsibilities including office hours, advising students, course development, and assessment. Compensation for the 2026/2027 academic year ranges from $657 to $1,104 per contact hour, based on course offerings

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in English or a related field is required.
• Option 2: Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in English, Composition/Rhetoric, Literature, Linguistics, or Creative Writing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver instruction for ENG 100, including syllabi and assessments.
• Maintain class records and attendance for financial aid compliance.
• Participate in student grade appeals and assessment reporting.
• Observe college calendar and post conference hours.
