Job summary

COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITY CENTER NON- PROFIT HOUSING CORPORATION is seeking a part-time, on-call Maintenance Assistant to support routine upkeep of homes and fleet management in Michigan. The role covers exterior/interior care, landscaping, painting, and basic repairs to ensure safety and appearance meet program standards.

The position emphasizes a culture of respect, reliability, and teamwork, with responsibilities including groundskeeping, lifting, and on-site collaboration with the Maintenance

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Michigan drivers license.
• Must be able to be insured by COCs insurance carrier.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be physically able to walk various terrains, endure weather conditions, and stand for long periods.
• Must be able to lift objects over 50 pounds.
• Ability to take direction and communicate clearly and effectively.
• Exhibit emotional maturity and sound judgment.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Proactive approach to problem solving.
• Be flexible in work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and groundskeeping duties.
• Carry out general manual labor including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
• Do basic repairs and maintenance of buildings, facilities, and/or equipment.
• Maintain a safe working area.
• Be available for on-call needs of the organization.
