Job summary

Independent Management Services in Michigan seeks a maintenance technician to support multi-family communities. You will handle resident requests, preventive maintenance, unit reconditioning, and grounds upkeep.

Responsibilities include after-hours on-call, inventory checks, and reporting to Site Manager. Must have own tools and basic repair knowledge; benefits include health/dental insurance, 401(k), and generous PTO.

Qualifications

• Customer service-oriented; able to communicate effectively with residents and team members.
• Working knowledge of basic maintenance concepts (plumbing, repairs, etc.).
• Ability to prioritize work orders and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Timely reconditioning of vacant units, including painting, basic repairs, and cleaning.
• Ensure property grounds are well-maintained and free of litter and weeds.
• Perform after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call duties in rotation with other maintenance personnel.
• Respond to resident requests to ensure 24-hour emergency service.
• Monitor inventory and maintenance supplies; manage tools and parts.
• Snow removal and salting of main roads, walkways, and parking areas as needed.
• Reports to Site Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor; participate in ongoing training.
