Job summary

Family Service Lincoln is seeking a dependable and skilled part-time Maintenance Worker to help maintain our facilities and residential units.

This role performs general repairs, preventative maintenance, apartment turnovers, and light groundskeeping to ensure our properties remain safe, functional, and welcoming.

Schedule guarantees 10 hours per week, up to 30 hours, with 24/7 on-call for emergencies. The specific schedule may vary with needs and projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in building, apartment, property, or general maintenance.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and general repair.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate professionally with residents, employees, vendors, and contractors.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to complete required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs in agency facilities and apartment units.
• Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general repair tasks.
• Prepare apartment units for new residents, including cleaning, painting, minor repairs, and safety checks.
• Respond to maintenance requests and communicate the status of completed or outstanding work.
• Conduct routine property inspections and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
• Assist with preventative maintenance of building systems, equipment, and appliances.
• Perform light landscaping and lawn care, including mowing, trimming, weeding, and general grounds cleanup.
• Assist with seasonal tasks, including snow and ice removal, as needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, maintenance supplies, and accurate records of completed work.
• Coordinate with vendors or contractors when repairs require specialized services.
• Follow all agency safety procedures and treat residents, employees, and community members with professionalism and respect.
• Perform other related duties as assigned
